AI Builder: generating forms from a prompt
Describe your ideal form in one sentence and let the Builder AI create questions, logic, and themes.
The AI Builder is the fastest way to create a form. Describe what you need in natural language — one sentence or a detailed brief — and the AI generates a complete, ready-to-use form with questions, field types, logic jumps, and a matching theme.
How to use the AI Builder
- 1From the Dashboard, click "Create Form".
- 2In the creation modal, type a description of your form. Examples: "A job application for a design position" or "A customer satisfaction survey with NPS, rating, and open feedback".
- 3Click "Generate". The AI processes your prompt and builds the form in 5–10 seconds.
- 4Review the generated form on the builder canvas. Edit, reorder, or delete any elements as needed.
What makes a good prompt
- •Be specific about field types: "include an email field, a date picker, and a file upload".
- •Mention your audience: "for enterprise clients" vs. "for university students" produces different tones.
- •Describe logic: "if they select 'Other', show a text field asking them to specify" — the AI will create the jump.
- •Set the tone: "professional and formal" vs. "casual and friendly" changes the generated copy.
What a generated form costs
Building a form with AI costs 5 AI credits from start to finish. If you go through the outline step first, that is 1 credit to plan the form and 4 to build it; generating in one shot from a prompt or a pasted document costs the same 5. The free Mild plan's 20 credits therefore cover 4 complete AI-built forms a month.
- •Regenerating starts a new run, so it costs 5 credits again — the outline step is the cheap place to iterate at 1 credit a time.
- •Editing the generated form by hand is always free. So is publishing it and collecting responses.
- •If a generation fails, the credits are returned automatically. You are never charged for a form you did not get.
After generation, use the Builder AI Assistant (sidebar chat) to iteratively refine the form — e.g., "add a phone number field" or "change the theme to dark blue".
