Setting up email automations
Send automated confirmation, notification, or follow-up emails whenever a form is submitted.
Automations send email after a response comes in — a confirmation to the person who filled the form, a notification to your team, or a follow-up that waits a while first. They live in the Automations area of your dashboard, not inside a single form's editor, because one automation can watch a form, a contact, or a date.
Setting up your first automation
- 1Go to Dashboard → Automations and click "New automation".
- 2Pick what starts it. "Form submission" runs it every time the form you choose receives a response.
- 3Add a "Send email" step.
- 4Choose who receives it, then write the subject and the message.
- 5Click Test and run it against a real past response to see it work. No email is actually sent.
- 6Click Publish, then turn it on with the switch at the top. It starts with the next response.
Email configuration options
- •To — yourself, the person who submitted the form, or an address you type in.
- •From — defaults to [email protected]. On the Inferno plan, you can use your own verified domain.
- •Subject — a plain-text subject line for the email.
- •Body — the email message content in plain text.
All emails are sent with proper DKIM and SPF records, ensuring high deliverability and avoiding spam folders.
Monitoring automations
Each automation shows how many times it has run and when it last ran. Open it and switch to the Runs tab to see each run, whether it finished, and the error if something went wrong. If an email did not send, fix the cause and then either retry that run or replay it from the start — see "Why didn't my automation run?".
